You see, "they say"....(here I go with my "they say" quotes) :) whoever "they" are, "they" certainly say a lot don't "they"? But this one I've found to be true, so I guess I will officially include myself among the "they". You will often find clues as to what work will make you happy as an adult in what you loved to do as a child.
And here's proof! This is a tiny calendar I found recently while going through my trunk of sentimental keepsakes. Can you believe I did this? My guess is, since believe it or not there is no year on this calendar, that I probably made this when I was 10. This is its actual size. Each month is hand painted and lettered on a long TINY strip of paper and then accordion folded. I told you I was obsessed with tiny drawing... :) And you can also see that my subject matter bares a striking to resemblance to what it is now, bunnies, birds, trees, flowers, snowmen, turkeys and pumpkins!
I'm thrilled to have discovered this especially since I am now making calendars as an adult. I've been waiting to share this image with you once I was ready to announce my 2009 calendar ~ which I'm excited to report was sent off to the printers yesterday and should be ready in the next two weeks!!!!! So, for those of you who have been asking ~ YES there will absolutely be the second annual Creative Thursday calendar for 2009!! And I can't wait to share it with you.
